From a young age I have loved the outdoors. I grew up camping with my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. That has continued with my family, and we very much enjoy camping and hiking together. We love to explore our state and national parks and all the wonders of nature that they offer.
In 2022, my family and I decided to take a trip out west to Colorado. We made plans to visit Garden of the Gods, Mesa Verde National Park and of course Rocky Mountain National Park. I wanted to come home with some amazing photos and memories, so I dusted off the Nikon D3300 we had sitting in the closet, and I taught myself how to use it. That trip reignited my love for the outdoors and ignited a huge passion for “outdoor” photography.
I immediately gravitated toward wildlife and landscape photography to capture the beauty of the outdoors that I loved so much. I had been doing some birding for a few years prior and in January of 2024 I finally invested in some better gear, that included a long telephoto lens and set out photographing every bird I could find around me. I am continually growing my skills and my portfolio, and I hope that my photography brings you joy and inspires you to get outside and explore this beautiful world we live in.
Ty is an award winning photographer from Kokomo, Indiana. He loves photographing wildlife and landscapes with nature as the main theme. Ty has always loved being outside in nature camping, hiking and exploring. In 2018 he graduated from Indiana University Kokomo with a degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. This environmental education has led him to use his photography to educate, inspire, captivate and hopefully motivate people into loving, protecting, utilizing and benefitting from our natural areas such as city, county, state and national parks and the wildlife that inhabit them.
Ty just entered his first art exhibition where one of his pieces won a second place ribbon and another piece won an honorable mention in the photography category. He is pictured to the left with those pieces.
